Ever since I watched the movie series "The Last Ship" where an infectious disease outbreak was thwarted by the invention of a transmissible vaccine, I’ve been captivated by the potential of this groundbreaking approach. The series illuminated the powerful concept of a vaccine that could spread from one individual to another, effectively creating a self-propagating immunization network. This innovative idea sparked a deep interest in transmissible vaccines within me. It led me to delve into academic papers and literature on the subject, which ultimately connected me with my supervisor, Professor Scott Nuismer, one of the leading authorities in this field. Since then, I have dedicated my research to exploring the possibilities of such vaccines, aiming to contribute to the field and advance our ability to combat infectious diseases in novel ways. Through my work, I strive to turn this cinematic inspiration into tangible scientific progress, driven by the goal of improving global health outcomes.
